Through animation, painting, and 3D sculpture, I use visual storytelling to translate memories shaped by my experiences in nature, especially extended canoe trips in the Boundary Waters of Canada. These experiences taught me to value stillness, quiet observation, and the emotional weight of small moments, which became central to my work. Each medium expresses this differently: animation captures movement, painting holds mood, and sculpture emphasizes presence. My formal choices, material, process, scale, and surface do not just depict nature but generate its meaning, often embedding my emotional state directly into the work. By enlarging subtle details and constructing atmosphere through light and color, I encourage viewers to slow down and notice what is often overlooked. While these experiences are deeply personal, sharing them through my work creates spaces of connection, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and rediscover the quiet joy and significance in nature.
